Meadows Baptist Men's Disaster Relief Association
In October 2004, some of the men of Meadows Baptist Church felt led to create a disaster relief team to assist people in need, no matter what type of disaster they had encountered. Some of the areas where families have been helped are:
- Orlando, FL
- Clyde, NC
- Melbourne FL
- Meridian, MS
- Gulfport, MS
- Metairie, LA
- Macon, GA
- Salem, KY
- High Point, NC
The main goal of the association is to win people to Christ, through their witness and love for fellow man. Some of the tasks they have done include clearing trees with chain saws, cleaning out homes affected by floods, rebuilding homes due to disaster, which includes replacing roofs as well as interior reconstruction.
Another part of their local ministry is to cut and deliver firewood to the widows and elderly people of our church and local community.
They have seen people saved and lives changed due to the Lord touching people through their love for them.
Anyone that is interested in helping with the Men's Disaster Relief Association should speak to Steve Hill. All types of workers are needed.
