I CHOSE TO LOOK THE OTHER WAY
I could have saved a life that day,
But I chose to look the other way.
It wasn’t that I didn’t care,
I had the time and I was there.
But, I didn’t want to be a bother,
or argue over who is God the Father.
I’ve seen him on the job all the day long,
But wouldn’t tell him he was living wrong.
The chances didn’t seem to be that bad,
I’ve done them to, he knew I had.
So I shook my head and walked on by,
I knew the risk as the day goes by.
I took the chance and closed my eyes,
and with that, I let him die.
I could have save a life that day,
But I chose to look the other way.
Now every time I see his wife,
I’ll know I should have tried to save his life.
That guilt is something I must bear,
But O’ we have something we need to share.
If we could see the risk we take,
We put their life at stake.
The question asked, or things you say,
Could help them live eternally.
If you see the risk, and walk away,
Then hope you never have to say,
I could have saved a life that day,
But, I chose to look the other way.
